Lactation Principles
- Lactation Principles is a basic course that focuses on the counseling skills needed to provide optimal breastfeeding support to clients. The course will enable attendees to strengthen their problem-solving and critical-thinking skills through case studies and other activities.
Advanced Lactation Management
- Advanced Lactation Management (ALM) addresses advanced breastfeeding concerns and provides participants with opportunities to apply critical thinking and problem-solving skills through case studies and group discussions.
Training with Lactation Support Centers
Additional training opportunities for health care providers are offered by WIC Lactation Support Centers in Austin, Dallas, Houston, McAllen and San Antonio. The Lactation Support Centers offer valuable services, including lactation consults, prenatal and maternity/infant care classes, support groups and strong community partnerships.
