Congratulations on your Texas Ten Step designation! Maintaining this designation signals to physicians, prospective patients, and the community your commitment to offer supportive care to breastfeeding mothers. Redesignation is required every two years, with the deadline on January 31st. Tracking of initiation and exclusive breastfeeding rates and documentation of staff education are important criteria as well as continuing to improve full adoption and implementation of all Ten Steps. Please submit the following information and supportive documents for re-designation:
- Application.
- Policies that have been revised since last application.
- New infant feeding policies added since last application.
- New patient education materials and staff education courses that were not included in last application.
*Re-designation for TTS facilities that have obtained the Baby-Friendly Hospital designation through Baby-Friendly, USA is concurrent with their BFHI re-designation date, which is every five years.
